Liam Ó Muirthile is one of the most original and eclectic voices in Irish literature. A poet, novelist, dramatist, critic and journalist, he is a consummate stylist in any genre. His latest novel, Sceon na Mara is a thriller set on the west coast of Ireland. A young woman’s body is recovered from the sea. Other bodies follow, all women, in a series of ritualistic and macabre offerings. What follows is a journey into darkness, as Detective Inspector Jack Hennessy pursues the devious killer. Tonight IMRAM joins Cois Life and Gaelchultúr/ClubLeabhar.com to launch Sceon na Mara with a reading from Liam, followed by a public interview with Catherine Foley, in which he will talk about his life and work. |
